Phishing remains a real threat at all times. Please continue to be vigilant when opening and answering emails and if you are ever unsure about the legitimacy of an email please contact the IT service Desk who will be happy to advise.
We have identified a widespread Phishing Attack affecting multiple users. The email will appear to come from a member of staff, might have no subject and contains the following text;
"Are you free right now? I need you to do something for me, Will look forward to your reply.
Thanks, Staff name"
An additional clue to the fact this is a scam is that the senders email address will appear as a random number @gmail.com rather than the dundee.ac.uk address.
Please do not interact or respond to this email. Should you reply to this email the scammers will attempt to have you purchase Amazon Gift Cards.
We are actively removing all these emails from the system, however should you receive any more or similar emails, or if you have interacted in any way with them already, please report immediately to Help4U.
