We've now resolved the incident. Thanks for your patience.
Remedial work to the power systems will take place on the morning of Wednesday 21st October (from 7.00 am onwards) - the aim of this is to provide resilience - we do not expect power to be off during this time - however it should be considered an at risk period - updates will follow
The vast majority of services have now been restored. However, before we can declare this Major Incident resolved , we need some work to be undertaken to increase the resilience of power generators. Updates will follow when this work has been completed.

The main power distribution outage on Saturday morning had a major impact on IT services and systems. Whilst the majority of services are restored , we continue to work on the remainder.
We are aware that some School of Life Science Departmental websites (not the main dundee.ac.uk website) are unavailable - we aim to have these restored as soon as is possible.
Work continues this morning on stabilising the power system
If you are in student residences and are still experiencing an issue with the ethernet connection in your room, please connect your device to our WiFi service Eduroam where possible in the meantime.
This issue this morning was caused by a fault in the mains power distribution. Most key services have been recovered and we will continue to bring up the remainder over the course of the weekend and Monday morning.
