AppsAnywhere have confirmed that the security patch has been applied, we have restored external access to AppsAnywhere We've now resolved the incident. Thanks for your patience.
We are now working with our 3rd party supplier AppsAnywhere to get the security patches applied. Once this has been done we expect normal service to resume.
We have now opened up internal access to AppsAnywhere
Going to myapps.dundee.ac.uk should work on campus, if you access externally it will redirect you to www.dundee.ac.uk.
As you will be aware there have been recent reports of two critical security vulnerabilities in PHP, a third-party technology component widely used for websites and online services. Our 3rd party supplier AppsAnywhere have confirmed that their products use this component, so we have taken immediate action following their recommendations and powered down our AppsAnywhere servers.
We recognise the disruption these measures may cause, particularly during busy academic periods. Given the severity of these particular vulnerabilities and their wider global impact, we believe taking these precautions is the responsible course of action.
However, we are currently working on a solution that would allow on campus access to AppsAnywhere, this would maintain the required security restrictions, but also limit the disruption to teaching and study. We will keep you updated.
