We’re doing maintenance work on the University’s wifi and wired network, during which time all inbound and outbound internet traffic will be disrupted.
On-campus services will still be functional during the maintenance window, however, should they be reliant on cloud services, for instance, Office365, Azure authentication or MFA, they should also be seen as at-risk and liable to short-term disruption. It is also possible that post maintenance window, intermittent service disruption may be noticed throughout the post-change monitoring period.
Please save your work regularly and if you experience connectivity issues during the maintenance window refresh your network connection and try again later.
We’re replacing our network’s Border Gateway Routers to help us maintain the delivery of a resilient and performant network to our university community. On successful completion of this work, we will be in a position to upgrade our Perimeter Firewall nodes, previously identified as a congestion-point in our current network deployment, and progress with the Network Refresh Programme.
While we don't expect any issues, sometimes unexpected things happen. We'll update this post with progress.
