DTS continue with their planned schedule of work in relation to the planned power outage.
Whilst you should have received notification that the Estates and Campus Services repair on the back-up generator, which supplies the maintained power to JBC, has been completed , you should be aware that the DTS work will continue until 3.30pm on Wednesday 20th December (this means that access to systems may be at risk until that time).
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we strive to complete this maintenance as swiftly and efficiently as possible while minimising any potential impact on your operations.

Planned Power Outage and James Black Data Centre Shutdown
We want to provide advance notice of a planned power outage and subsequent shutdown of our JBC data centre, scheduled to take place from 2pm on Monday 18th December until 3.30pm on Wednesday 20th December, this action is essential to facilitate critical maintenance work on the building's power systems by our Estates Department. It is aimed at ensuring the long-term stability and security of our IT systems.
Key Details: Date and Time: Monday, December 18th, from 2:00 PM to Wednesday, December 20th, at 3:30 PM. We want to reassure all our users that we have taken comprehensive measures to minimise any disruption to those outside the JBC building. However, it's important to note that there is a slight inherent risk associated with this planned maintenance, which could have an impact on the broader university IT systems.
