To help reduce the University’s exposure to a cyber-attack due to vulnerabilities relating to the ongoing log4j security incident, we’re shutting down the MyDesktop service on Wednesday 22 December at 13.30 until the week commencing 10 January 2022.

If you need a remote desktop connection whilst MyDesktop is offline, you can easily connect to one of our remote desktop pools. For information on how to access a remote desktop pool visit our Accessing student software guide.

We would like to apologise for any inconvenience and to thank you for your continued cooperation as we strive to keep our university’s data safe and secure.

While we don't expect any issues, sometimes unexpected things happen. We'll update this post with progress.
